The bottle screws apart easily for cleaning and eventually recycling. The body is not dishwasher safe, but the lids and bottom part are, which is what counts ;) The Carafe lid can be taken apart for more thorough cleaning and the bottle can be cleaned easily with a brush or by adding a small drop of dishwasher fluid and running water into the bottle until it's clear.
